The current layout of the three-story house is inefficient with living spaces scattered throughout. Original details were stripped away during previous renovations. Design efforts centered around centralizing living, dining, and cooking spaces while opening up the master bedroom and kitchen spaces to the garden. Generous sliding glass panels will allow ample light into the space and expansive views to the rear garden.
Existing parlor floor layout includes a three room parlor, which is not conducive to the way the owning family prefers to live. The parlor floor will become a singular space, design elements include an eating nook, powder room, and re-envisioned entry vestibule. The aim is to reinvent the space in a modern context without losing the grace of history.
