Designed with a family moving to Brooklyn from Manhattan, this Italianate Brownstone is located close to the Pratt Institute. As currently configured the house has been chopped up with original ceiling heights lowered, aluminum replacement windows, and questionable finish choices.
Working closely with the client, plans were developed to provide significant upgrades to the kitchen, living, and master suite spaces. The rear of the parlor floor holds the kitchen and new large windows and doors opening to a rear deck and large garden. Old and new blend together to create something that is more interesting than the singular.
